It doesn’t look much different from a childcare centre in Toronto, Vancouver or Montreal. A playful sanctuary set amid a sleek urban landscape of glass, brick and steel in central Oslo, the capital of Norway, the cute little playground belonging to the Bisletbekken Barnehage buzzes with activity. It’s early May, and, despite the brilliant sun overhead, there’s a chill in the air, something that doesn’t stop the centre’s apple-cheeked kids, carefully bundled into puffy snowsuits, from busily enjoying Bisletbekken’s riding toys and colourful playground equipment.
